Mikrolimano is Piraeus at its most immediately picturesque: a compact harbour below Kastella, with a broad promenade, small boats and a long line of places to eat.

Why go

The waterfront is easy to enjoy without a fixed itinerary. It works for a coffee, a family walk or a full dinner, and the harbour becomes especially atmospheric as the lights come on.

Plan it from Dock38

The walk from Dock38 is possible but long enough to feel like part of the outing. A taxi is more comfortable for dinner or hot weather. If walking, link Pasalimani, Votsalakia and Mikrolimano as one coastal route.

Local note

Arrive before sunset, walk the full esplanade first, then choose where to sit. The pedestrianised waterfront is family-friendly, but the climb into Kastella includes stairs and steep streets.

Pair it with

Climb to Kastella for the view, stop at Votsalakia Beach, or follow the Great Coastal Walk in the opposite direction towards Marina Zeas.
