Dock38 works well as a base for Athens when you treat the station walk and the Metro ride as two separate parts of the journey.

Why go

Metro service avoids much of the road congestion between Piraeus and central Athens. Line 3 serves Piraeus and central stops, while other connections may suit a specific destination.

Plan it from Dock38

Use live directions from Dock38 to either Dimotiko Theatro or Piraeus station, then check the official timetable for the day. Build your Athens plan around one district rather than crossing the centre repeatedly.

Local note

Keep your return route saved before leaving and watch belongings in busy trains and stations, as you would in any major city.

Pair it with

Use the Municipal Theatre area before boarding, or finish the day with dinner around Pasalimani after returning to Piraeus.

Check before you go

Walking and driving figures are approximate planning ranges from Dock38. Opening hours, transport and ferry services can change; use the linked official source and live directions on the day.
